Born To Soon Charity Night at The Penny Black
What's Next, Button Mushrooms and Duvet all perform at The Penny Black, North Street, Leatherhead from 7pm.
A golf day followed by an evening of rock/pop classic covers will be occuring in Leatherhead on Saturday 11th February. Event organizer, Adam Godzikowski along with his rock band, The Button Mushrooms, have been supporting the Born too Soon Unit at Kingston Hospital for the last 16 years and have raised over £15k for the unit as well as providing toys and televisions for the Children's ward.
A recent convert to golf, he, and his work colleagues from Hounslow Homes, started the Birthday Bandit Society, playing golf on their respective birthdays during the year, and Adam had the idea of amalgamating the two passions and his Charity Golf gig event was born!
At least £800 is hoped to be raised from this event which takes place at Leatherhead Golf Club and continues in the evening at the 'Penny Black' on North Street in Leatherhead from 7pm where the Button Mushrooms will be ably assisted by Duvet and the Official Monster Raving Loony Party band, Whats Next. Golfing legend, Peter Alliss, has given his support to the day by donating some very special prizes for the golfers and there may also be a rock star or two who are patrons of the Born too Soon Unit at Kingston Hospital, to present the prizes for the golf day! The evenings entertainment is free, however it is hoped that donations will also be forthcoming on the night.
